Dallas - March 29, 2011 - Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Greater Dallas (CCCS of Greater Dallas), a nonprofit provider of free housing and credit counseling and education, is offering 100 free webinars throughout April in honor of Financial Literacy Month. Consumers who attend at least three webinars will have the chance to win one of three $100 gift cards.

The webinars will focus on a number of personal finance topics including information on recession proofing your finances, surviving financial crisis, credit scores, basic money management, budgeting and savings goals, foreclosure prevention, identity theft, couples and money, and financial planning for milestones such as getting married, buying a home or having a baby. A full schedule is available below and at www.cccs.net/webinars.

"It is our goal to empower consumers with educational resources and knowledge so they can be confident in making smart financial decisions," said Todd Mark, vice president of education for CCCS of Greater Dallas. "These free, live webinars will allow people to take advantage of financial education, whether at work during lunch, or in pajamas at home during the evening or weekend. Consumers can learn so much from these webinars, and to reward them for making an effort to improve their financial well being, we will give away $100 gift cards to three individuals who attend at least three different webinars!"

The free webinars are made possible through support from the Texas Credit Union Foundation and Friends of Consumer Freedom. In addition to webinars, CCCS of Greater Dallas is working with the Texas Credit Union League and Texas Credit Union Foundation to host "Your Money, Your Matters," a live, weekly blog talk radio program that informs and educates the public on a wide array of issues related to personal finance, such as asset building, retirement planning, investments, as well as addresses current issues, including the economy, financial marketplace and credit unions in general.

Additionally, CCCS of Greater Dallas is hosting a live phone bank on April 21 to be broadcasted on Univision 23 KUVN-TV in Dallas during Financial Literacy Month. The phone bank will focus on housing and finance topics, and both Spanish- and English-speaking counselors will be on hand to answer questions from callers from 5-7 p.m.
